January 1, 2012 wasn't an average New Year's Day for Naples (Fla.) Grande Beach Resort. The first day of the new year ushered in a new name for the property – Waldorf Astoria Naples.

And along with this distinguished designation comes some very significant changes that'll be taking place throughout the year.

“The property is making improvements with its products, and we are taking our service to a new level,” says Hunter Hansen, managing director.

Product-wise starting with rooms, Waldorf Astoria Naples is replacing all of their bed and beddings with the brand's signature mattresses and monogrammed linens. The bath amenities are being replace with Ferragamo bath products, another Waldorf Astoria staple.

Other scheduled upgrades include completely renovating the ballroom and updating the corridors for a crisp look.

The improvements extend beyond the interior of the property with an improved beach experience for the guests. In addition to new chairs and cushions, there'll also be new beach activities offered.

When it comes to the service side of the Waldorf Astoria Naples, Hansen stresses they are very rigorous on their standards.

“I've been meeting with team members in small groups to walk them through all of the service standards. They will be tested and certified.”

“By becoming certified, it shows they know them and are committed to them.”
